britney concert Her singing was dominated by a backing track. Her moves were nothing special — defined by much strutting and stripper-like shimmying, with the minimum amount of acrobatics to prove her mettle as a dance-pop queen. Her physical form, still beautiful, didn’t take one’s breath away the way it did when she was 17.

But on Tuesday’s opening night of her “Circus” tour at the New Orleans Arena, Britney Spears, the mighty Aphrodite with the troublesome tawdry streak, nonetheless renewed her claim as one of the world’s most adept manipulators of the public interest. Powering through a 90-minute show that integrated her impetuous teenhits with the more perverse material from the albums she released after a very public breakdown that made her a constant in the tabloids, the Louisiana native flashed her famous good ol’ girl smile at the fans, mostly female, who still find her a worthy patron saint of the erotic arts.

night_at_museum_2

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian is a 2009 American adventure comedy film. The film stars Ben Stiller, Dick Van Dyke, Robin Williams, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Rami Malek, Hank Azaria, Bill Hader, Ricky Gervais, Christopher Guest and Steve Coogan. It is set for release on May 22, 2009.

Plot

When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the famous Washington Museums. The centrepiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world’s largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone’s rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy’s ruby red slippers, Fonzie’s jacket from “Happy Days” and Archie Bunker’s lounge chair from “All in the Family”.

Production

Writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon have confirmed to Dark Horizons that they are writing a sequel to their hit Fox film, which was earlier tentatively titled Another Night at the Museum. The writers, who created Reno 911!, said that “there’ll be existing characters and plenty of new ones.”

20th Century Fox guesses that the sequel, now titled Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, is scheduled for a Memorial Day weekend release on May 22, 2009. Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, and Dick Van Dyke will return for the sequel, with Shawn Levy back in the director’s chair, and it will be the first major Hollywood feature to be filmed at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. It is largely being filmed in Vancouver. Due to the nature of the complex story, more historical figures are expected to be involved, with Amelia Earhart, who will be portrayed by Academy Award nominee Amy Adams. A new villanious Pharaoh will be played by Hank Azaria who confirmed the return of Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais, and Steve Coogan.

The company had been looking for a Winter 2008 release, but due to the writer’s strike of 2007, it was delayed to Memorial Day 2009.

The film was confirmed as shooting a scene at the Lincoln Memorial on the night of May 21, 2008. It was also shooting a scene at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on the nights of the eighteenth and twentieth of August 2008 where a red airplane could be seen. The trailer was released with Bedtime Stories, Yes Man and Marley & Me in December 2008 and January 2009 with Bride Wars.
